When I started working on the book a few months ago I was so wrapped up in the writing part of the project that I forgot to look at the full scope of the task at hand. I have not spent this much time drawing, painting, sketching and designing since I was in art school- and I LOVE it. I was expecting the process to be a lot of work (and it is) but I did not anticipate the sheer joy that I feel with a brush in my hand and a pad of paper in front of me. And the writing- I love that too. So here we go- into winter, into the holidays, into the children, into chapters and deadlines...but also into ink, color, shapes, brushes, coffee and making a book on the dining room table.
Deep breath. Learn by doing.
